OUR BUSINESS... 

Christians Overcoming Cancer was founded in October 2006 to help meet the needs of individuals diagnosed with Breast Cancer that were not authorized by other organizations and to offer all a faith-based support network.

In our first year of business, we came in contact with people diagnosed with other forms of cancer and knew that we could not simply turn someone away from our services for lack of having the "right form of cancer"...

The result...

An expanded mission to serve as many as possible who are in need of our services regardless of the type of cancer diagnosis.

We are honored to be in position to help others overcome cancer.

About the founder...

On January 13, 2006 Mary Jenkins was informed that the lump she accidently found in her right breast was cancerous.  The actual diagnosis- Stage III-Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

Learning this, Ms. Jenkins immediately turned to her faith in God expecting the Word to manifest in her life.

While going through treatment she realized that she and probably others needed more than the traditional support offered by family and friends. Seeing this Ms. Jenkins accepted the task of encouraging others who were in treatment and finding out what financial resources were available for not only herself but also for them.

It was in this search that Ms. Jenkins found organizations willing to assist with general household expenses like rent, gas, electricity but none willing to help with car payment, car insurance, credit card payments, cable or cell phone bills.  The response from the organizations were "it's not approved" or "that's not a necessity". 

With these responses she knew she had to do something. Believing God's Word in that He supplies all her need, and the needs of others in treatment, Ms. Jenkins stepped out on faith and founded...
